The Water Lights at Night event has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 12, 2025, due to predicted weather this weekend. The event was initially planned for Saturday, October 11.

The schedule and location remain unchanged. The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Butterfly Pond in Las Colonias Park. Further information about the event can be found online.

Admission is free. Attendees may pre-purchase lantern kits for $8 each or $42 for a pack of six before the event. Kits will be available for pick-up on the evening of the event. Lanterns bought during the event will cost $10. Previously purchased lantern kits can be used on the new date. Only lanterns bought through Grand Junction Parks and Recreation are permitted at the event. Each kit includes an LED tea light and a marker for personalizing, and attendees are encouraged to bring extra materials for decoration. Part of the proceeds will support GJ Plays Foundation.
