The University of Colorado has updated its administrative policy statement related to the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA), with changes taking effect on February 1, 2026. The Office of Policy and Efficiency (OPE) announced that the university is centralizing how it receives public records inquiries and requests under CORA.

Requests for public records will now be submitted through an online form. This new system will direct submissions to the Director of Public Records Compliance as well as relevant campus records custodians for response.

The university stated, “The revisions and cleanups to APS2022 will align the policy with the new centralized process and online request form. These revisions are effective Feb. 1, 2026.”

More details about these updates can be found on the OPE website at https://www.cu.edu/ope/aps/latest-changes. Additional information regarding systemwide administrative policy statements is available at http://www.cu.edu/ope.
