The University of Colorado will host its Innovation & Entrepreneurship Showcase on September 15 as part of Colorado Startup Week in downtown Denver. The event aims to highlight the university’s ongoing role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across the state and beyond.
This year’s showcase will feature Inspiration Hall, an expo where more than 60 innovators, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders will present their work. The program also includes a keynote session with several speakers who have ties to CU or are recognized for their contributions in various fields.
Speakers scheduled for the event include Matt Ridenour, head of U.S. accelerator and startup ecosystems at Google; Thomas “Detour” Evans, a CU Denver alumnus and internationally recognized artist; Maithreyi Gopalakrishnan, a CU Boulder alumna and founder of PrecisionTerra; Rafael de la Vega, a UCCS alumnus and CEO of Salt Athletic; and Vik Bebarta, professor at the CU School of Medicine and founding director of the Center for Combat Medicine and Battlefield Research.
The showcase is organized under the President’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative. This initiative seeks to connect efforts in innovation, research, education, and collaboration across public and private sectors to achieve practical results.
“CU’s longstanding leadership in innovation is marked by groundbreaking solutions and advances in health, climate, education, technology and lifestyle, among other areas affecting our daily lives,” said CU President Todd Saliman. “To be able to see so many of our remarkable community members together in one space at the showcase and experience their work firsthand reaffirms that the university is not merely preparing our students for the future, we’re shaping the future.”
