The University of Colorado is now accepting entries for the 2026 CU Innovation & Efficiency (CU I&E) Awards, an annual program that recognizes employees who develop solutions to improve university operations.

A recent submission from CU Anschutz, titled “Redesigned Research Studies Website Boosts Access and Engagement,” has already demonstrated significant results by more than doubling research participation inquiries through enhanced navigation and improved search features. Other current projects can be viewed on the program’s Current Submissions page.

Last year, the top award was given to a project called “Sustainability in Simulation Operations” at CU Anschutz. The awards panel will distribute up to $1,500 in cash prizes this year.

According to the Office of University Controller: “Every day, CU employees advance the way we work, and the CU Innovation & Efficiency (CU I&E) Awards celebrate the thoughtful, effective solutions driving that progress.”

Employees are encouraged to submit their projects and contribute ideas for further improvements at the university.
