The University of Colorado’s Excellence in Leadership Program (ELP) recently provided its current cohort with an opportunity to observe the state legislative process firsthand. On February 11, about 40 participants visited the Capitol as part of an annual event organized by CU’s State Government Relations team.

The visit included presentations from university leaders and partners, offering participants a closer look at how different teams within the university—such as Government Relations, legal, and budget—work together to advocate for CU’s interests in higher education policy.

This experience is designed to give ELP participants timely insight into Colorado’s government operations and the development of policies that impact higher education.

For more information about the Excellence in Leadership Program, interested individuals can learn more at the program’s official site.
