University of Colorado Board approves tenure for 22 faculty members across four campuses

The University of Colorado Board of Regents has approved 22 tenure appointments and awards across its campuses, with the changes taking effect in August 2025.

At CU Anschutz, effective August 6, 2025, Rebecca A. Ihrie and Jonathan Michael Irish from the Department of Pediatrics, as well as Ihab R. Kamel from Radiology in the School of Medicine, have received appointments with tenure. Tenure was also awarded to John Bankston (Physiology and Biophysics), Saketh Ram Guntupalli (Obstetrics and Gynecology), Cari R. Levy (Medicine), Rebecca L. McCullough (Pharmaceutical Sciences, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences), and Natalie Virginia Schwatka (Environmental and Occupational Health, Colorado School of Public Health).

CU Denver will see Erin Orrick (School of Public Affairs) and David Rifkind (Architecture, College of Architecture and Planning) receive appointments with tenure starting August 6, 2025.

At UCCS, William Wells from Criminal Justice in the College of Public Service is appointed with tenure on the same date.

For CU Boulder, effective August 14, 2025, faculty receiving appointments with tenure include Alan Bovik (Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering), Bryan Choi (School of Law), Bethany Ehlmann (Geological Sciences), Shivendranath Ganesh (Communication), Steven D. Jacobsen (Geological Sciences), Ann Lipton (School of Law), Govind Persad (School of Law), Shanti Catherine Simon (College of Music), Ann Stevens (Economics), Amanda Thein (School of Education), and Hong Tien Vu (Journalism).
