The Strategic Planning Working Group at the University of Colorado (CU) is advancing its efforts to develop Strategic Plan 2.0. The group recently held its second meeting and will soon begin engaging with members of the CU community.

Lynn Vidler, provost at UCCS, and Chad Marturano, vice president and chief financial officer for the CU system, are co-chairing the initiative. They plan to attend governance group leadership meetings throughout the 2025-26 academic year to consult with faculty, staff, and students. According to the announcement, “The conversations will be essential in shaping a strategic direction that reflects the values and aspirations of the entire community.”

To broaden participation, an interactive engagement tool is being developed for launch on the Strategic Planning website later this fall. This tool aims to give CU community members opportunities to share feedback, explore emerging themes, and remain updated as planning progresses.

The working group includes faculty, staff, and administrators from all four campuses along with system administration representatives. Their task is to create a plan aligned with CU’s mission and vision that will guide future growth and success.

A draft of Strategic Plan 2.0 is expected by June 2026 for President Todd Saliman’s review. The final version will go before the Board of Regents in summer 2026. Until then, CU’s original 2021-26 Strategic Plan continues as its primary guiding document.

For more information or to provide input on the process, individuals are directed to visit the CU Strategic Plan 2.0 website or contact CUStratPlan@cu.edu.
