The U.S. Census Bureau has published updated population estimates and projections for 21 countries and areas, extending demographic data up to the year 2100. The update, released today, includes new analyses and data sources for countries such as Australia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, the United States, and others.

In addition to national-level information, the release covers demographic details for over 13,600 subnational regions worldwide. These areas are similar in administrative level to states or counties in the United States. The new data set also introduces improved mapping features.

According to the Census Bureau, this update incorporates recent information from censuses, surveys, and administrative records. Updated analytical methods were used to refine these estimates and projections.

The International Database (IDB) managed by the Census Bureau provides demographic indicators for more than 220 countries and areas. It offers detailed breakdowns by sex and single years of age up to age 100 and above. Components such as mortality rates, fertility rates, and net international migration are also included in the database. The IDB is periodically revised as new information becomes available.

Estimates and projections from this release can be accessed on the International Database Overview webpage.
