Southbound Interstate 25 near the 20th Street off-ramp in Denver has reopened after a large piece of construction equipment fell from a flatbed truck early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. within a coned-off work zone, where contract crews were working to remove equipment following overnight resurfacing activities on I-25.
Four out of five southbound lanes were closed as crews worked to safely remove the overturned equipment from the roadway. All lanes have since been reopened and traffic is moving normally.
A spokesperson stated, “Southbound I-25 near the 20th Street off-ramp is fully open after four of the five lanes were closed to remove a large piece of construction equipment that fell from a flatbed truck and landed on its side. The incident happened 4:30 a.m. today in a coned-off work zone as contract crews were removing the equipment following overnight resurfacing work on I-25.”
No injuries or additional incidents were reported during the removal process.
