The Colorado Department of Transportation announced on April 15 that southbound Interstate 25 between Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs will experience overnight lane closures and full closures from April 16 through April 19. The closures are part of ongoing roadway and bridge deck repairs being carried out by CDOT and its contract partner, SEMA Construction, Inc.

These scheduled closures are intended to ensure the safety of both motorists and construction crews while essential maintenance is performed. The work includes pavement cutting, bridge deck repairs, and replacement of expansion devices on the bridge. Motorists can expect lane reductions beginning at 7 p.m. each evening with full southbound closures occurring from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., followed by gradual reopening of lanes by early morning.

During these periods, drivers traveling southbound on I-25 will be directed to take Exit 146 at Garden of the Gods Road, head west before turning left onto Centennial Boulevard, then continue south to reconnect with I-25 past Fillmore Street near Centennial Boulevard. Additional overnight full closures are planned for May: northbound I-25 at Garden of the Gods Road on May 1, and southbound I-25 at the same location on May 8.

According to the official website, the Colorado Department of Transportation works to improve quality of life for residents through integrated transportation solutions.
