Overnight lane and ramp closures are planned this week on Interstate 25 in Lone Tree, Douglas County, as part of ongoing work to construct a mobility hub. Drivers should expect delays with traffic reduced to one or two lanes during the overnight hours. All lanes will reopen before the morning commute.

Construction crews will be installing permanent barriers and re-striping lanes in preparation for building a pedestrian bridge over I-25. The schedule for these closures has changed due to recent rain.

On Wednesday night, September 24, triple lane closures will occur on northbound I-25 between Castle Pines Parkway and Ridgegate Parkway. The first lane will close at 6 p.m., the second at 8 p.m., and the third at 9 p.m., leaving only one lane open. The northbound off-ramp to Lincoln Avenue will close at 10 p.m., with drivers detoured to East County Line Road and southbound I-25 toward Lincoln Avenue. The westbound Ridgegate Parkway on-ramp to northbound I-25 will also close at 10 p.m., with a detour via South Peoria Street and Lincoln Avenue. Speed limits in the northbound lanes will be reduced to 65 MPH. All affected lanes and ramps are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Thursday, September 25.

On Thursday night, September 25, double lane closures are set for southbound I-25 from C-470 to Ridgegate Parkway, beginning at 7 p.m. with further reductions at 8 p.m., leaving only one lane open. Both westbound and eastbound Lincoln Avenue on-ramps to southbound I-25 will be closed starting at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively, with detours provided via South Peoria Street and Ridgegate Parkway. Speed limits in the southbound lanes will be reduced to 55 MPH. All lanes and ramps are expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Friday, September 26.

The project team plans to re-stripe both directions of I-25 into new configurations on Wednesday and Thursday nights for upcoming median work.

Motorists are advised: “Motorists are urged to heed the speed limit, give plenty of following distance, and watch for crews and equipment.”

Further impacts are expected Sunday night, September 28, affecting both directions of I-25 as work continues.
