The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will implement overnight closures on US Highway 6, west of Holyoke, to allow for safety-related work on a bridge reconstruction project. The closures are scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 4 and Friday, Sept. 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., at US 385 Mile Point 279.

According to CDOT, the closure is necessary so crews can set girders for the new bridge structure being built in the area located west of US 385 and east of County Road 37.

Detours will be in place during the closure period. For westbound traffic on US 6, drivers should head west on US 6, turn left on County Road (CR) 35, turn right on CR 24, then turn right on US 385 to reconnect with US 6 east of the closure. Eastbound travelers should head east on US 6, turn right on US 385, turn left on CR 24, and then left again on CR 35 to rejoin US 6 west of the closure.

“The work schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change.”

Nighttime working hours are from Thursday evening through Friday morning each day. Those seeking more information or wishing to receive construction updates can visit the project website, call the project hotline at 970-601-1114 or email [email protected].
