Mesa County Valley School District 51 will hold a reception to honor outgoing Board of Education members Will Jones and Angela Lema. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., before the regular Board of Education Business Meeting. It will take place at R-5 High School in the Harry Butler Board Room.

The district acknowledged the service of Jones and Lema, who have served on the board since 2021. In a statement, the district said, “As Directors Will Jones and Angela Lema conclude their service on the Board of Education, we want to express our sincere gratitude for their leadership and commitment to District 51. Since joining the board in 2021, Will and Angela have dedicated countless hours to supporting our schools, students, and staff.”

The statement continued: “We are incredibly appreciative of all they have done to strengthen our district and help guide our shared vision of engaging, equipping, and empowering each and every student, each and every day. We hope you will join us in recognizing their invaluable contributions.”

Attendees can expect cake and light refreshments during the reception. The community is invited to participate in honoring both directors for their dedication.
