Mesa County Valley School District 51 reported that 82 percent of its schools received the state’s highest academic rating, known as the Performance rating, marking a record for the district. Superintendent Dr. Brian Hill highlighted the achievement in his weekly update, noting that several schools have consistently maintained this rating over multiple years.
Dr. Hill visited several schools to recognize their academic performance. Pomona Elementary received the Performance rating for the eighth consecutive year, Wingate Elementary for the ninth year, STEAM@Tope Elementary for the eighth year, and Loma Elementary for the seventh year, ranking among the top three in the district’s School Performance Framework. Lincoln Orchard Mesa Elementary not only achieved the Performance rating but also improved its School Performance Framework score by more than ten points.
“Shoutout to the students, staff, and families at all of these schools for their hard work. And a special shoutout to Principal P, Principal Schrader, Principal McCurry, Principal Kennedy, and Principal Wimsatt for your leadership in these schools! Leadership matters, and we have great leaders serving our schools. I can’t wait to get out and celebrate even more of our Performance Schools in the coming weeks,” Dr. Hill said.
The district also recognized recent state championships in sports, including golf, as part of its ongoing celebrations.
