The City of Grand Junction and School District 51 are hosting the high school state marching band competition at Stocker Field in Lincoln Park on October 27. The event has drawn thousands of students and spectators from across Colorado, making it one of the largest gatherings held at Lincoln Park.

A total of 48 buses and 64 trucks and trailers have been brought by participating high schools. As a result, parking is limited and noise levels in the area are expected to be higher than usual throughout the day.

All other activities in Lincoln Park, including use of the pickleball courts, are suspended for the day due to the scale of the event. The only exception is the Lincoln Park Golf Course, which remains open to the public.

For additional information regarding park closures, individuals can contact Grand Junction Parks and Recreation at 970-254-3866 or gjparksandrec@gjcity.org.
