IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen and other leaders recently visited International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) members at Alaska Airlines Cargo, engaging with mechanics from both Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines in Seattle and Hawaii.

A significant topic discussed during these visits was the upcoming representation election involving the IAM Union and the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA). This election is a result of the ongoing merger between Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines. Addressing questions from union members, Johnsen issued a public challenge to AMFA for a debate, stating his readiness to meet “at any time, any where to discuss issues at stake for the workforce.”

Video highlights of these discussions are available.
