IAM negotiations team member Mark Costa has outlined his responsibilities as a flight service specialist, which include delivering essential weather and safety information to pilots. Costa, who represents Local 2010 in Reston, Virginia, stated that his team is preparing for contract negotiations with Leidos, a government contractor. The preparations also involve Local 2011 based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Costa explained the importance of the work performed by flight service specialists and emphasized their role in supporting aviation safety. He noted that both Locals are working together ahead of upcoming talks with Leidos.

The negotiations will address employment terms for air traffic controllers and related staff under Leidos’ contract.
