The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is reminding locals and districts that the deadline to order personalized bricks for the IAM Workers Memorial is Sunday, March 1, 2026. The memorial, located at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland, honors workers who have died, been injured, or become ill due to their jobs.
Personalized bricks can be purchased in several options. A $100 brick includes three lines of text with up to 20 characters per line but does not feature a logo. For $125, buyers can include the IAM logo on a brick with three lines of text and up to 15 characters per line. An 8×8 brick is available for $200; it allows for six lines of text without a logo or five lines with either the IAM logo or another preferred logo.
Supporters can also purchase a commemorative tile for $10 as a sign of solidarity.
For locals that have lost members due to work-related causes, complimentary bricks are available upon submission of an order form.
The IAM Workers’ Memorial was completed in 2001 and serves as a tribute surrounded by engraved bricks from fallen members and contributions from lodges and members. Each year, a ceremony is held at the site to remember those lost and reaffirm efforts toward workplace safety. The date for this year’s event will be announced soon.
