For the fifth consecutive year, the IAM Local 1746 Women’s Committee and the IAM Union Eastern Territory have worked with East Hartford Public Schools in Connecticut to support a backpack rally event. Volunteers from IAM Local 1746 and the Eastern Territory collected donations, packed backpacks, and took part as a vendor on distribution day. During the event, they distributed thousands of items such as pencils, pens, rulers, activity books, stickers, and other school supplies.

The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to assist students in East Hartford as they prepare for the new school year. The collaboration between union members and local schools aims to ensure that children have access to essential learning materials.
