The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) announced on Mar. 12 that its 2026 IAM Legislative Conference will take place from June 22 to June 24 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.
The conference is an important event for IAM members, providing an opportunity to engage directly with lawmakers and discuss issues affecting workers. In the previous year, more than 400 IAM members attended the conference in Washington, D.C., which was described as one of the strongest turnouts in recent history.
Registration for delegates will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 22, and continue until 12:30 p.m., with a second registration window available on Tuesday morning from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The opening session is scheduled for Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., where IAM Legislative and Political Director Hasan Solomon will begin the proceedings. This will be followed by a keynote address from IAM International President Brian Bryant.
General sessions are set to run from 9 a.m. to noon on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Delegates will have dedicated time in the afternoons to lobby their elected representatives on Capitol Hill. The conference will conclude with a Congressional reception starting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Delegates are encouraged to arrange meetings with their Congressional district representative and both U.S. senators before arriving in Washington, as these discussions are considered vital for ensuring that elected officials hear directly from union members.
