The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce announced on Apr. 16 that applications are now open for its Diplomat Committee, with submissions accepted through April 30.

The Diplomat Committee plays a key role in welcoming and connecting members at chamber events such as Networking@Noon, Business After Hours, and Quarterly Membership Luncheons. The committee is credited with fostering an environment where business relationships can grow and where new members feel included in the local business community.

According to the chamber, Diplomats are responsible for making introductions at events, ensuring that attendees feel part of the organization rather than just participants. Their presence is especially noted during ribbon-cutting ceremonies marking milestones like new openings or anniversaries across Mesa County.

Beyond event participation, Diplomats help both new and existing members navigate opportunities within the chamber. They assist newcomers in finding ways to get involved and help maintain engagement among established businesses. The chamber said this consistency helps turn membership into a meaningful network.

Being part of the Diplomat Committee is described as an opportunity to represent not only one’s own business but also the collaborative spirit of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce. The visibility gained by serving as a Diplomat can lead to increased referrals and trust within the community.

The chamber stated that ongoing investment in this group will continue because “when our Diplomats are engaged, our members are more connected. When our members are more connected, our business community is stronger.” Applications for those interested in joining the next Diplomat Committee remain open until April 30.
