The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce has received the “Highest Achievement in Communications” award from the Colorado Chamber Alliance (CCA). The CCA is a statewide network that represents over 75 chambers of commerce and more than 50,000 businesses across Colorado.

The award acknowledges the chamber’s work in strategic storytelling, community engagement, and communicating its mission to represent business interests and support economic growth in the Grand Junction area.

In 2024, the chamber focused its communications strategy on raising awareness about advocacy efforts, highlighting workforce development partnerships, and providing timely resources to both investors and residents. This strategy included traditional and digital outreach methods such as an Annual Investment Report, weekly features in the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel’s News Flash, a redesigned news website for the chamber, and increased social media activity. These combined initiatives aimed to deliver a coordinated message about the chamber’s role as a source for business leadership and collaboration.

According to the Colorado Chamber Alliance, this recognition is given to chambers that show innovation and measurable results in connecting with their members and communities. The Grand Junction Area Chamber reported stronger engagement with stakeholders, broader reach within the community, and improved member satisfaction as outcomes of its approach.

“This recognition speaks to the commitment of our team and board to ensure the Chamber’s message is clear, consistent, and responsive to the needs of the business community,” said Candace Carnahan, President & CEO of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce. “It is an honor to see our work recognized by peers from across the state.”

The CCA operates as part of the Colorado Chamber of Commerce. Its programs aim to strengthen local chambers through shared resources, leadership training, and collaboration on projects throughout Colorado.

For officials at Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce, this recognition affirms their ongoing effort to share information about business activity in Western Colorado.
