The Colorado Medical Society (CMS) has announced changes to its membership categories and dues structure, aiming to adapt to shifts in physician demographics and the healthcare marketplace. The CMS Board of Directors, together with staff, has approved these updates after several months of review.

For the first time in two decades, membership dues will increase. Beginning in 2025, most members will see a $50 rise in their annual dues. According to CMS leadership, this adjustment is necessary to keep up with inflation and maintain the quality of services and advocacy provided by the organization.

“The Board has also approved small, inflationary adjustments in the future to ensure the continued viability of CMS,” according to a statement from CMS. The full details of these changes are available for members’ review.

CMS stated that its primary goal is “to provide greater flexibility and better meet the needs of Colorado’s evolving physician demographics and marketplace.”

The organization said these steps are intended to secure its strength both now and moving forward.
