Colorado Medical Society mourns loss of longtime physician leader James R. Regan

James Robert Regan, MD, died on June 9, 2024, at the age of 68. Dr. Regan was known for his long career in Internal Medicine and his active involvement with the Colorado Medical Society (CMS).

Dr. Regan was born in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Colorado College and Wayne State University before earning his medical degree in 1982. After completing his internship and residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, he began a career that would span more than forty years.

Dr. Regan became involved with CMS in 1983 and held several leadership roles over the years. He served as President of the Denver Medical Society in 2000, chaired multiple task forces, joined the Board of Directors in 2003, and acted as Treasurer from 2006 to 2009. He was also recognized as a Fellow by the American College of Physicians.
