The Colorado Medical Society (CMS) has announced details for its 2025 Annual Meeting, set to take place in Keystone. The event will begin on Friday and continue through Saturday, offering a range of professional and social activities for members.
A highlight of the weekend is the Presidential Gala on Saturday evening. During this event, outgoing CMS President Kim Warner, MD, will pass the gavel to incoming president Brigitta Robinson, MD. This year’s gala theme is “Prom: Black Tie; White Coats.” Attendees are invited to dress up in tuxedos or tulle if they choose.
Friday’s agenda includes the final quarterly meeting of the CMS Board of Directors for 2025. This session will be available both in person and virtually, and all CMS members are welcome to attend. The evening features a welcome reception with networking opportunities and trivia games that offer prizes and a chance at being selected for the CMS Prom Court.
Medical students and residents are encouraged to participate in a research poster competition covering primary research, case reports, and evidence-based reviews. Posters will be displayed starting Friday evening, judged on Saturday, with winners announced later that day. Saturday starts with breakfast at 7 a.m., followed by educational sessions from 8 a.m. Topics include federal legislation impacts on Colorado healthcare, rebuilding public trust in physicians, reputation management, ethics in advocacy, among others. Speakers scheduled include Carolynn Francavilla-Brown, MD, FOMA; Kamran Dastoury, MD; Matthew Wynia, MD MPH; and American Medical Association President Bobby Mukkamala, MD as featured presenter.
The COMPAC lunch will recognize Defender of Medicine award recipients before attendees prepare for the evening’s prom-themed President’s Reception and Gala. The event includes dinner, dessert options, music from a DJ, dancing and time with colleagues.
Childcare services are provided on Saturday during both morning educational sessions (8 a.m.–1 p.m.) and again during the evening gala (5–8 p.m.), including an organized outdoor activity for children earlier in the day.
Attendees can also explore local recreation options such as hiking from Keystone Gulch Trailhead—including access to challenging peaks like Grays and Torreys—biking at Keystone Bike Park before it closes for the season (lift tickets required), golfing at Keystone Ranch Golf Course or participating in lake activities like kayaking or paddleboarding outside Keystone Lodge.
