Colorado Chooses Vaccines has expressed concern about recent changes to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Autism and Vaccines webpage. The organization states that the updated webpage now claims vaccines cause autism, a position they say is not supported by scientific evidence. According to Colorado Chooses Vaccines, this change was not initiated or endorsed by CDC career scientists and goes against more than thirty years of research in the United States and internationally involving millions of children.
“These changes come as both Colorado and the nation are experiencing an increase in vaccine-preventable diseases, including measles, pertussis, and influenza. Families need clear, reliable guidance to make informed decisions—especially about vaccines, which remain one of the most effective tools to protect children,” said Colorado Chooses Vaccines.
The group emphasized that health professionals, public-health leaders, policymakers, and community organizations across Colorado are collaborating to strengthen immunization efforts. “Colorado’s health professionals, public-health leaders, policymakers, and community organizations are working together to strengthen our immunization ecosystem and ensure families receive clear, evidence-based information. Colorado Chooses Vaccines was created to reinforce that work and help Coloradans navigate a rapidly changing federal vaccine landscape with confidence,” the statement continued.
