The Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) has released updated guidance for Proposition 123 Fast Track, along with a redesigned website and plans for two upcoming webinars. The new guidance includes revised statutory interpretation regarding allowable extensions and outlines the requirements for the Fast-Track review process under Proposition 123. It also offers best practices, answers to frequently asked questions, community examples, and other resources.
The updated materials are available on DOLA’s newly designed Fast Track website, which consolidates all relevant information in one place. Users can access downloadable tools such as a template resolution and a self-assessment checklist through the site.
DOLA’s Community Development Office will host two events related to implementing the fast track requirements in Proposition 123. On Friday, September 12 at 9am, an informational webinar will present the new guidance materials and highlight recent changes. According to DOLA staff: “DOLA staff will present all the new fast track guidance materials that have been recently published, including some new statutory interpretation on the allowable extensions. The new fast track website is easier to navigate, the requirements are better explained, and there are new downloadable tools. This webinar will highlight the new changes and DOLA staff will address the most commonly asked questions about the guidance.”
A second event is scheduled for Thursday, September 18 at 9am as part of the monthly Housing Strategies Peer Exchange series. This session will feature a panel discussion with local government representatives discussing their approaches to fast track policy implementation and providing opportunities for audience interaction.
These events are aimed at local government staff or elected officials, consultants, and others interested in learning more about Proposition 123 Fast Track requirements.
