The U.S. Census Bureau has published new data tables from the Annual Survey of State Government Finances, covering fiscal year 2024. The release includes statistics on state government revenues, expenditures, and debt for each state.

These figures are used by various levels of government as well as educational and research organizations to conduct comparative studies. The information also contributes to the calculation of the government sector’s share in the gross domestic product.

The survey is conducted annually and supplements the broader Annual Survey of State and Local Government Finances.
