The U.S. Census Bureau has announced new data-sharing agreements with Brigham Young University-Idaho and the University of North Carolina System to expand its Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) experimental data product. These additions bring in data from 17 more post-secondary institutions, increasing the PSEO’s reach to 952 institutions and covering about 35% of all college graduates nationwide.
The PSEO provides information on earnings and employment outcomes for graduates by degree level, major, institution, and state. The resource is intended for use by students, parents, educational institutions, and workforce agencies to better understand labor market outcomes after graduation.
These outcomes are possible through partnerships between universities, state education departments, state labor market offices, and the Census Bureau. Data users can access the information by linking graduate transcript records with Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics data using tools such as the PSEO Explorer tool, raw files, or through the Census API.
