The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will begin paving operations on Colorado Highway 145 south of Telluride starting Monday, August 18. The work is scheduled to continue through Thursday, August 28, and will take place each week from Monday to Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The project covers approximately three miles of roadway along Lawson Hill, stretching from the Society Turn Roundabout through Mountain Village Boulevard (Mile Points 69 to 72). During this period, motorists should expect full stops, alternating traffic patterns, and delays ranging from 15 to 30 minutes as crews complete the surface treatment.

A maintenance alert map released by CDOT shows the specific section of CO 145 where paving will occur. According to CDOT officials, these operations are part of regular maintenance efforts aimed at improving road conditions in San Miguel County.

“Motorists can expect up to 30-minute delays and alternating traffic between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, from Aug. 18 to 28.”

CDOT encourages drivers traveling in the area during these dates to plan for extra travel time due to potential delays caused by construction activities.
