The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will conduct repairs on several sections of damaged guardrail along US Highway 160 east of Cortez on Tuesday, July 29. The work will take place between Mile Points 40 and 44, with crews scheduled to operate from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During the repairs, drivers traveling between Cortez and Mancos should expect up to 15-minute delays and alternating one-lane traffic. Traffic control measures will include signs, cones, and flagging personnel, and speeds through the work zone will be reduced to 40 miles per hour.

Motorists are advised to slow down and exercise caution when approaching the area. CDOT stated that “crews will work swiftly to complete operations; however, work is weather permitting.”

“Motorists can expect up to 15-minute delays and alternating traffic between 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. between Cortez and Mancos,” according to CDOT.

Travelers are encouraged to plan for extra travel time due to possible delays. For real-time updates on highway conditions or additional information about road impacts, motorists can visit the COtrip website at https://www.cotrip.org/home.
