As part of its centennial celebration, Colorado Mesa University (CMU) will host The Bootleg Ball in Brownson Arena on December 12, 2025. The event is presented by Shaw Construction and aims to evoke the spirit of the 1920s with a prohibition-themed party.

The evening will feature a performance by the Jennifer Keith Quintet, which includes members of Royal Crown Revue. This group played a key role in the swing revival movement during the 1990s. According to the release, “Several members, including Keith herself, performed with Royal Crown Revue during its rise to national fame. Signed to Warner Bros., the group released nine albums, toured internationally and appeared in iconic films such as The Mask and Swingers.” Their performances are known for blending musical precision with elements reminiscent of 1920s jazz culture.

Attendees are encouraged to wear period-appropriate attire such as flapper dresses and vintage suits. The event will also offer dinner provided by Cowboy and the Rose and themed cocktails designed to reflect the atmosphere of a classic speakeasy.

A VIP Speakeasy experience will be available for those seeking an exclusive lounge setting away from the main dance floor.

The primary purpose of The Bootleg Ball is to raise funds for CMU Athletics programs. “Proceeds from the event directly support CMU Athletics, helping student-athletes continue to compete, grow and succeed at the highest levels,” according to organizers.

Tickets are priced at $75 for general admission and $100 for VIP access. Additional information about tickets can be found on the Bootleg Ball in Brownson event page.
