Faculty at the University of Colorado are being reminded to submit their applications for the 2026 Boettcher Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards program. This year, a new requirement has been introduced: an Intent to Apply form must be submitted by Friday, January 9.

The Boettcher Foundation’s Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards will offer up to five grants of $250,000 each, supporting up to three years of research for early career investigators. Recipients will receive the title of Boettcher Investigator in recognition of the award.

Since its inception in July 2010, the program has provided more than $17.6 million to 75 current Boettcher Investigators at CU.

Eligible faculty from all four University of Colorado campuses are encouraged to apply. To qualify for the 2026 awards, applicants must be within four years of their initial career-track academic appointment as of January 1, 2026; not have previously received a major independent research award; have received a terminal degree or completed their initial medical residency within ten years prior to January 1, 2026; and be either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident at the time of application.

Applicants are instructed not to contact the Boettcher Foundation directly. More information on eligibility is available at http://www.cu.edu/bfww/eligibility.

“To ensure that the award selection panel has the expertise needed to review submitted applications, we are requesting that each potential 2026 Boettcher Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards applicant complete an Intent to Apply form. Submissions are requested by Friday, Jan. 9.”
